WALK FOR SICKLE CELL!
  • The SCAMTF is excited that it will be hosting its first annual Walk
    for Sickle Cell! There will be walks in Austin and San Antonio. The
    Walk for Sickle Cell in San Antonio will be held on Saturday, April
    28, 2012 at Brackenridge Park. Registration will be $20 before
    April 26th and $25 in person. The  Walk for Sickle Cell in Austin
    will be held in June. On-line Registration is available by visiting
    our website at www.walkforsicklecell.org.


Spike it for Sickle Cell
  • Saturday, September 24th, SCMTF and Christus Santa Rosa held
    its first annual Spike it for Sickle Cell in San Antonio. We thank
    you for all of our participants who played to raise money for Camp
    Cell-A-Bration!

Wastelanders Fundraiser for Sickle Cell!
  • Saturday, September 10th at the Bicycle Club the
    Wastelanders motorcycle club held a fundraiser for Sickle
    Cell. The event was terrific and we appreciate all who
    attended, we especially thank the Wastelanders for their
    abundant generosity.

Sickle Cell-A-Bration 2011 in the Park is here!
  • Sickle Cell-A-Bration in the Park was held on September
    17th at East Metropolitan Park in Manor. The event was
    wonderful and we appreciate all of our volunteers and
    families for their support! See you next year!

National Sickle Cell Awareness Month
  • September was National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. The
    National SCDAA 2011 Conference was held in Memphis,

Camp Cell-A-Bration 2011 was a huge success!
  • Camp Cell-A-Bration was even bigger and better than last
    year! We appreciate all of the help and support and look
    forward to an even better year next year!

Huston-Tillotson Donates toys to the Sickle Cell
Association of Austin
  • Huston-Tillotson graciously donated several toys for our
    deserving families for Christmas. Through their
    generosity, our children will be able to receive more than
    expected this Christmas.

Cell-A-Bration Day in the Park
  • Was held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the East
    Metropolitan Park in Manor, Texas. There was food,
    fishing, arts and crafts, music, and tons of fun! This event
    was in celebration of the 100 years since Sickle Cell
    Disease was discovered. Thank you for ALL of the families,
    volunteers and Commissioner Ron Davis for attending!

Camp Cell-A-Bration
  • Was held in Burton, Texas from August 8-13, 2010. We
    had almost double the number of children we had last
    year, and we thank our Camp Director, Camp Counselors,
    and Medical Staff who made this year's camp a huge
    success. Our children had a wonderful time, check back
    soon for photos!

Sickle Cell-A-Bration Day in the Park
  • Saturday, September 19, 2009 at East Metropolitan Park
    in Manor, Texas the SCAA-MTF hosted Sickle-Cell-A-
    Bration day in the park! There was food, fun, fishing,
    games, a moon bounce, and plenty of entertainment for
    our families.

March 24, 2009 Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill
  • The Sickle Cell Association of Austin-Marc Thomas
    Foundation participated with the Sickle Cell Associations of
    America in our nation's capitol to advocate for Sickle Cell
    Disease and continued funding. We also met President
    Barack Obama in his Oval Office to further discuss sickle
    cell disease! Click on the left side tab of the webpage
    entitled "SCAA Meets President Obama."
